Look for all 33 drivers to put in at least 10 shakedown laps, while others may do more in an effort to prepare for the possibility of changing weather conditions, as the early forecast calls for sun and rain on race day.

Only three of the top 16 cars in the starting field have Chevrolet power. All others are racing with a Honda. Going into the final practice it has been a relatively clean month, short of Sebastian Bourdais’ qualifying-day crash that sent him to the hospital for pelvis and hip surgery.

Barring any last-practice incidents, the early race drama will focus on defending Indy winner Alexander Rossi, who will start third ont he grid, and his teammate Fernando Alonso, who will start fifth. This will be Rossi’s second start at Indy and Alonso’s first. The first few laps could be critical for both.
